Korean Drama: Dong Yi (2009)

Synopsis:

Dong Yi is low born girl who lost his father and brother due to incident that blame the sword fraternity which his father is the leader at that time. Dong Yi determined to enter the palace and find the cause of her father and brother' death.

Review:

This is the longest Korean Drama I watched recently, it has 60 episodes. I mainly watch because of Bae Soo Bin who acts as chun soo, Dong Yi' protector and brother. As usual, his act is no doubt brilliant in this series. Han Hyo Joo as Dong Yi really done her job really well. She is beautiful and really suitable as Dong Yi.

In the beginning, the seer told consort Hui that she can reach the top position in palace but she will always become the shadow of the girl who has nothing but will get everything, if she meet this girl, she better not to fight head to head with this girl, because she can not beat the light from this girl, as long as she lived, the light will always shine, who later we know this girl is Dong Yi. As you see the drama tell about the palace politics between consort Hui and Dong Yi. At first she liked her intelligent and later feel threatened with Dong Yi especially when she realized that king loved Dong Yi very much and she feel abandoned and bittered.

The 60 episodes told about the struggling of Dong Yi, how Dong Yi who is coming as slave in Music bureau and later she promoted to be lady investigator and later became Consort Chun, but she refused to be a queen. She preferred to leave outside palace and do something to help poor peoples and bring justice to them.

This series also tell the love story between Dong Yi and King, How King pursue Dong Yi and want her to be his royal consort. The love story itself is bittersweet with some humor, you will not get bored. At first, Dong Yi did not know that he is the king because he said he is the justice officer. Later she knows and their love story continued to grow.

If you really liked romance or historical drama, you should watch this drama, its worthed.

K-drama: Shining Inheritance/Brilliant Legacy (2009)

Synopsis: 

Go Eun Sung and his autism brother were devastated by death of their father and they have to survive on their own. Later Go Eun Sung saved a rich grandmother who impressed with her personality and wants to give her inheritance to Eun Sung.

Review:

This is a modern cinderella story. Go Eun Sung need to take care of her autism brother and live on their own selves after being chased out from house by her step mother. Later she meets old grandmother who apparently own Jin Sung Enterprise and wants to give Eun Sung the company as inheritance.

This drama is focus on family story and square love issues. It is quite complicated yet interesting drama. I like all the castings for main role, they really suit for their roles. I like the strong characteristic of the 4 main roles here. Eun Sung is a kind girl who likes to hard work and help other peoples. Hwan is arrogant boy who is very bossy. Seung Mi is a kind girl who loves Hwan and like to do anything just to get Hwan even bad things and Park Jun Se is mature man who likes to pursue his culinary career and protective of Eun Sung.

The story of this drama is pretty unique and I like the connection between Hwan and Eun Sung. They firstly meet because of luggage exchanged issue and later Hwan hates Eun Sung because his grandmother wants Eun Sung to inherit what actually belongs to him. During the process, he starts to feel for Eun Sung and fall in love with her. I like how this drama is taking their connections slowly and not rushing. We can see simple things Hwan did for Eun Sung each episodes. Every episode has something new to happen, this drama keeps moving with each episodes. The only thing I want is I hope this drama has more humor, more funny scenes instead of more tense and sad scenes.

Hwan and Eun Sung relationship starts from hate become love relationship. They disliked each other before fall in love. If you like this kind relationship, this drama is absolutely for you and definitely should be in your list.

K-drama review: Another Miss Oh

Sometimes, what we do not expect will have outcome beyond expectation. This is what happen when I watched this K-drama titled Another Miss Oh.

Here is the fact: I bought a lot of K-drama, watched and finish very few of them. If I found the Kdrama is not interesting, i will stop either at beginning episode or middle. Just can not stand myself to finish it. Yet if i really like the K-drama, i will watch over and over again and hard to get over with.
The last sentence I said had done me right with this K-drama Another Miss Oh.

I have famous K-drama dvd by web browsing, like Descendent of the sun (dots), pinocchio, love rain, marriage contract, etc. Actually I even did not finish watching Descendant of the sun (dots), forcing myself watch until middle episode and I feel really bored and I can not force myself to finish the drama. Frankly said, I even did not shed a single tear when watching Dots, same as well as pinocchio, and the others. So the scene is I bought a lot of K-drama in one day and did not finish all. The reason because it really did not touch my emotion and thought.

Since then, I learnt to just buy one K-drama. So if I did not finish it, I feel not really so wasted. So, I asked the shop retailer which drama is good, she told me that the last drama she watched is Another Miss Oh. So I bought it according to her said.

I just started watch this drama few days ago and still could not get over with this K-drama, because it is so good. I was crying, laughing and smiling while watching it. This drama really played my emotion well. Its really touching. Its beyond my expectation. I just expect to watch this drama to accompany my lunch time, meaning just as I have something to watch while eating. Yet, I was crying in episode 2, when Oh Hae Young told Park Do Kyung that she is been dumped by her ex fiancee.

Sometimes, I watched Kdrama, because I like the actor, like I watched some of Bae Soo Bin dramas, because I like the actor not the drama. But this is different. I don't even know the actors/actress in this Oh Hae Young drama. I have to say that they are really good actors/actress. They suit well.

The story is pretty simple. There are two woman named Oh Hae Young. The pretty Oh Hae Young dump Park Do Kyung on the day their wedding and the other Oh Hae Young getting dumped  by Han Tae Jin. Park Do Kyung ruin Han Tae Jin because he misunderstood by thinking his pretty Oh Hae Young to be married to Han Tae Jin. This is romantic comedy stories that will not get you bored.
The soundtrack is really good too. Its just really match the drama.

I still really not fully get over this drama after finish watching it 2 days ago. Even the soundtrack still whirling in my mind. It's just really recommended, this is really good K-drama you should watch.
