TV series: This is Us (2016)

Synopsis:

The Pearson' family story revealed in emotional drama.

Review:

I was intrigued to watch this series after I saw many good reviews and that is really true. This series story is simple but is wrapped in so emotional ways and so much feelings like happiness, sad, joy, triumph and love. This series is really captivating. I was caught up in the first episode and can't wait to watch next episodes.

This story tell how Jack and Rebecca has triplet babies but lost the 3rd baby and at the same time, suddenly there is a baby who left in the fire station and brought to the hospital where Rebecca give birth to both babies. They agreed to adopt the baby and named him Randall. The story tell about Kevin, Kate and Randall. The plot kept back and forth between their childhood and their present life.

Jack called them the big three, let's check on them one by one:

• Kevin Pearson: Kevin Pearson is an actor. He's famous of his series, The Manny. Kevin has lifestyle such as famous handsome actor, He has fancy car, hook up with girls here and there, having threesome with sexy girls and he lived in fancy penthouse. His characteristic is easygoing and friendly, which makes it easier to attract girls. He takes everything easy, never really take something into his heart. He cares about Kate so much. Kate is his twins. Everytime he asked Kate to go eat somewhere, he always the one who's paid for Kate, which later this behaviour annoyed Toby as Kate' fiancee. Toby thought Kevin acts more like her father/husband instead of a brother. He married once with his first love Sophie but later he divorced with her, because he was caught cheating with other girl. Though he still hook up with other girl during their on and off relationship, his love is always for Sophie.

•  Kate Pearson: Kate always had issue with obesity. Since she was kid, her mother Rebecca always complained she can't eat too much for healthy issue. Sometimes she'd complained that she feel hungry because she only eat fruits. Kate works as Kevin' personal assistant. She is considerate towards peoples. She treat Kevin and Randall the same. She always had a thing for her mother, Rebecca. She envied her, she always think Rebecca is better than her, in form of singing and appearance. Later she found true love in Toby. They meet each other in social community centre (obesity). She feels Toby can accept her as the way she is. They find happiness in quirk ways possible, they support each other and bring the best out of each other. They are solid too, when Kate had miscarriage, she can make it with Toby. Toby is jealous of Kevin' presence, so Kate separate herself living in LA while Kevin move to New York. She lived together with Toby and both of them are planning to get married.

•   Randall Pearson: Randall is adoptive son that Jack and Rebecca found in hosptial she was giving birth to both Kevin and Kate. Randall is black, so he always feel different from his siblings. Randall himself is an observant and perfectionist. He feels nervous when things go not as his planned. Everything must in order to his plan or he will get breakdown. Since he was young, he noticed that black people often get discriminated, that's why he worked so hard to be success. Randall work in company in Wallstreet, he is very good with numbers. His job need his analythical skills of complicated numbers. As a perfectionist, he makes sure his wife and his two girls are happy. He basicly wants good home and good career for life. When he found out about his biological father, he tried to approach him and that is the beginning of his perfect life falls apart.

There are a lot of up and down, a lot troubles to drift them apart yet they draw them closer together.
While watching this series, I get the messages that it doesn't matter how success or rich you are, the one that matters that you have sincere peoples by your side when everything in your life falls apart. Its about how you loved peoples and being loved, how you cared people the way you want to be cared. Love itself that make difficult life bearable. Life is always uncertain, anything can happens, its just how you sort yourself and get up.
There’re a lot of emotional stuffs, so far it makes this series nice and enjoyable to watch.

TV Series: The lost (2004-1010)

Synopsis:

Plane Oceanic 815 had crashed and some of the passengers are survive on the island. Later they figured out that they are not the only ones on the island, there are "the others" which local citizen on the island before them. But before them, there is organization called Dharma Initiative who conduct electromagnetic research on this island. On 1970, this organization conduct research because they found the special properties of the island such as electromagetic fluctuations. Later Desmond, who accidentaly sailed nowhere and being saved enter the code every 108 minutes to keep the amount of electromagnetic at bay. One day, Desmond accidentaly did not enter the code and there is big turbulance in the hatch and that caused the Oceanic 815 crashed accident.

There is strained relationship between the others and the survivor of Oceanic 815. There is a British researcher named Daniel Faraday, Daniel is a physician, He conduct research about time travel and he conducts time travel research which will change the variable and the constant (desmond himself). Variable meaning the others beside Desmond. Desmond himself can move toward and backward between time. Jack Shepard found Faraday' notes and determined to save the island and prevent the Oceanic 815 accident.

Review:

I know this is a famous tv series back then, I was late to just finish watch it few months ago. Back then, I was not really interest to this drama, because I am not a sci-fi fan. At first I was doubt to review this because I was thinking some of you or most of you who watched it back then, but this tv series just too good to not to be reviewed, because it stucks in my head for weeks and months and it is not something that I can easily forget. I just want to share my thought and my feeling of this drama. Also, if you are new generations who just heard about this drama, I recommend you to watch the whole drama, either through DVD or online. This drama really worthed for your time and your senses.

One word to describe this drama, complicated. This is the most complicated drama I ever watched so far. Each episode and each season will bring you to something you don't know or something you won't be guessed. Each episode is a surprised. Each episode told each individual, so at the end you will know well every survivor. I really appreciate the effort of the writer and director of this series, I can imagine how hard for them to make this story work. This series also tells a whole lot scientific knowledge that you heard before or never believed before, some of them can be rumor or just a merely stories. Here just a bit example unique scientific experience: Hugo believe that after he won USD150 milllion by entering the number sequence which he believed bring bad luck to him or Claire who went to paranormal to find out that she need to protect her own son and can't let her son being adopted by someone else, later she is being told that she need to get on the flight Oceanic 815 to save her own son which lead her to the plane accident or Rose and John Locke who find their health back in the island or Dr Jack Shepard who is between believe anything rational as a doctor or believe some mythical stories of the island. They are really interesting to be watched. 

I personally a team Jack. I think Jack Shepard is a unique character in this series. At the beginning, he as a doctor tried to save other survivor of the plane and later he who has bad bed manner which means he is never give false hope to the patient. He tried to calm the survivors after some incidents caused by the others. He is a spinal surgeon who operated Ben also, barter it with Kate and Sawyer' freedom from Hydra island. He had bad obsessed behaviour which caused strained in his marriage with Sarah, which caused Sarah's leaving him to other man and had baby with other man. Jack himself is a good doctor. He is kind individual, but he is stubborn and doubtful, he scared to make wrong decision which cause other people distrusted him. 

If you are doubtful about this series like me before or you are not interest in science fiction drama, but you are really looking into one good drama to be watched in your empty time, try this series. This series is really worth your single seconds, in my opinion. Until now, I still watched back some of my favorite episodes of this drama. This drama just one of the best drama I ever watched so far.

TV series : Xuan Yuan Sword Han Cloud

Dear All, 

It's been a very long time since I last review my favorite TV series. Now I want to review another great one. I really like this show. It was called Xuan Yuan Sword Han Cloud. Yes, it was China period TV series, more likely fantasy period series. It was adapted from popular game. This is the sequel from Xuan Yuan Sword Rift of the Sky. But personally I like this one much better because the story is mature and sad. Now what's special about this TV series ? Let's get to it. 

Xuan Yuan Sword Han Clouds tell story about Xuan Yuan Sword. Basically, the famous divine sword used by Xuan Yuan Emperor to seal Demon lord, have been shattered into 2 parts and become human. They are Fen Yang from Fei Yu (Yao Han) and Muyun from Tanque (Xiao Yue). The only way for the sword to become one again is for both of them to kill each other. Tragically, both of them are siblings that have been separated since childhood. Their journey in this story is full of pain and suffering. There are many people die in this story. But fortunately, at the end, they can overcome their differences and bring peace to the world. 

I really like the characters. I mean all characters really served their purpose. And the actors really play it very well. One character I like the most is Muyun, played by Alan Yu Menglong. I think he is the most sympathetic character in this story. His life is tragic and you can feel his pain and feelings. Besides, the actors have an accident when filming. From what I heard there's accident involving flying scene and as the result, he has 5 fractured bones. And only after 1 week that he already back to work. What dedication. I really respect that. 

About the song, I don't quite like the opening. It's not bad but not great either. It was unfortunate. But I really like ending song. Quite sad. One thing I like about the production team is they let their actors song the sound track. I really respect that whether I like it or not. 

Even though I really like it, there's certain aspect that can be improved. It was the animation. Seeing that this is adapted from game, I can say that standard is quite good but of course below high budget TV series. Still, I take what I can get. I am glad they make this series. I really like it. Hope someday they can make another great story like this.

TV series review: Big Little Lies (2017)

Synopsis: 

One dead body found on the bottom of the stair and there is no suspect behind this incident. This series based on the novel Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. Madeline Mackenzie, Celeste Wright and Jane Chapman are friends, they have kids whose go to the same school. One day Anabelle found get hurt, and she point at Ziggy, which is Jane' son. There is no real evidence of who really hurt Annabelle.

Review:

This is the best tv series I watch in 2017. The characters are detail and so real. The plot and the story are unique and really good. It makes me want to watch each episode without bored and want to finish this series, because it is just so good.

Madeline Mackenzie is full time mom with two daughters, Abby which she shared custody with ex husband Nathan. Madeline often get annoyed seeing Nathan with new wife Bonnie. Later Madeline has affair with a married man but decide to come back to her own family, because she thinks she has happy family. Madeline is a good friend for Celeste and Jane. Even introvert Jane can open to Madeline.

Celeste Wright think Perry Wright is a wonderful husband. She always describe her husband is wonderful. Perry Wright has good career and they both are passionate for each other, have wonderful home and twin kids. Whereas look like wonderful family, Perry Wright has his own demon, he likes to abuse Celeste to get him enjoying sex in anger with her. He always initiate physical abuse before having sex with his wife and Celeste thinks she enjoyed it because she thinks Perry really passionate of her and love the family. Perry always gave her many gift as remose compensasion but after Celeste' bruise dissapeared, he starts the violent behaviour again and again.

Jane Chapman just moved in with his son, Ziggy. Ziggy' father is not in the picture, because Jane was raped by one man which she did not remembered. Jane always worry Ziggy has violent soul from his father. Jane is introvert and she often had nightmares. She likes to run or just some me-time alone to release her stress, especially dealing with Ziggy violent accusation from school.

This is unexpected, I did not realize who is behind Annabelle' bully until it reveal by itself. Perry Wright is deserved to have the consequences of his act. He is an abuser and a liar who put many womans in danger. Lucky for Jane, of course Perry lied his name, but if Perry get married with Jane, her life would be like Celeste. This is good story actually. I really can't wait for season 2. I absolutely gonna watch season 2.

Review TV Series: The Fall

Synopsis: 

Paul Spector is a serial killer who commit to kill several woman with the same method. Detective Stella Gibson is assigned to capture Paul Spector. Gibson hunted each evidences until it is enough to charge Spector. Gibson has to act faster to avoid more victim coming. Rose Stagg gone missing and Gibson has to move quickly to save Rose' live from Spector.
