Book Review : The Wager by Allen Kent

Dear guys, 

At last, I finished this book. It have been a long time since I get this book after it was selected from Kindle Scout. At first I have little problem with downloading it from Kindle Scout but managed to get it solved and read it. Now I am ready for my review. 

Synopsis : 

While investigating an extortion scheme involving high-priced call girls and some of America's most powerful politicians, special agent Adam Zak becomes embroiled in a deadly plot to manipulate the election of the next president of the United States.

Film Review : Doctor Strange

Dear All, 

Now I want to review my next film. To be honest I don't even have a feeling that I am gonna watch Doctor Strange in its opening weekend. Suddenly my sister just ask me to accompany her to watch the movie together with her friends. So here I go 

Doctor Strange is one of Marvel Super Hero franchise. One can expect it will be great because Marvel have good track record for their movies. The main character is Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Stephen Strange. I know Benedict Cumberbatch from Star Trek Into Darkness, so I kind of have an idea about the acting. Back to the story, I try to avoid spoiler (hope I can do it). Dr Strange is famous neuro surgeon that quite narcisstic. One day he get an accident and lose his hand nerves. Therefore, he cannot become neuro surgeon anymore. Because of this accident, somehow he go to Kathmandu and meet with earth supreme sorcerer. And the rest as they say is history. 

Film Review : Snowden

Dear Guys, 

Now after reviewing several books, I'd like to talk about movie and review it. And for this first film review I choose Snowden. Why ? Because I have soft spot for hacker. he he. Here we go 

Snowden (2016) was created based on real controversial people named Edward Snowden. There are many books about Edward Snowden. But for this movie, it was based on book tittled The Snowden Files by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Anatoly Kucherena. For information Snowden is NSA contractor employed by Booz Allen Hamilton. He is a whistleblower that revealed thousands of NSA classified documents to journalists. This movie tell Snowden story from his employment with CIA until his living arrangement in Russia with girlfriend Lindsay. Personally I don't like Joseph Gordon Levitt cas Snowden. It was not because he is bad actor, vice versa he is great actor. It just that he doesn't fit Snowden in my eyes. But it turns out he did quite good job. The movie was directed by Oliver Stone. For better or worse, I don't like the way he made this movie. Once again it is not because it was bad movie, but it feels quite boring. It was too long and slow. Based on the opening, you'd think there's gonna be big showdown between NSA and Snowden. But no, they keep moving forward like it was nothing. 

Book Review : The 9/11 Machine by Greg Enslen

Synopsis :

Helpless

I don't think I can make it
It was too difficult to be done
One can only feel helpless
Seeing things turn out in a different way

I really try to do my best
Pray and pray with all my heart
And yet it was not enough
Wonder what other things I should have done

I am not ungrateful with my life
Even when it was not a fair one
Still I want to hope
There's fairness in this world

Too tired to smile and cry
Too tired to think and feel

Walking and talking without direction

Wish my life make a difference

Book Review: Ugly Love

Synopsis: 

Tate Collins whom sister of Corbin Collins fall in love with Miles Archer, Corbin's best friend and his neighbour. They meet at the night which Miles in drunken state and they start to attract each other. Yet their love story is not as smooth as it should be, Miles has ugly memories about his first love which makes him does not allow himself to feel loved again. He try hard to avoid any love or any feeling but pain itself. This book tells about Tate effort to hide her feelings and finally get Miles's heart.

Now I want to try to put my book review in this blog. I should have done this for a long time. Wonder why I don't do it already. Maybe because I am still not sure whether I can be good book review. Now I want to try to do it. I don't have any experience with reviewing book seriously before. My review may not coincide with your taste or style. Any good feedback was appreciated.

I look at black sky
It was moonless
Wonder what's beneath the darkness

I am alone at the room
The wall seems far away
Ceilings are too high to reach
The light is dimmed

My life is dimmed
I couldn't find brightness in my path
Yet I am trying hard to get out from darkness
I am at dim state

The future seems blurred

Skin Care : Lip Ice Butter Ice Cream Matcha

Dear Guys, 

Now I want to share about my new lip butter which is Lip Ice Butter Ice Cream Matcha from ROHTO. I know I know that it is very unusual for me to share about my skin care products. But still I want to share about it because I am not someone whom like to buy skin care or cosmetic or fashion products. I used to do it but have stopped since then because I realized my skin is quite sensitive so I cannot buy cosmetic or skin care like before. I have to choose the products very carefully. 

My skin is very prone to acne. So after trial and error, applying varying cosmetic and skin care product. I choose the ones whom contained Matcha, green tea, aloe vera, bamboo, and etc. Normally, I don't really care about lip butter. But when I see it on Carrefour, I quickly get it because this is the first time I find lip butter matcha. I really love Matcha. Please don't ask me why because I don't know it myself. After I went home, I try to apply the lip butter. It was not what I expected. Instead of Matcha, it was more like Green Tea. For people who don't know even though Matcha is also one form of Green Tea, it was different. I am quite disappointed because it was not cheap. Still I like it because it feels very special. 

I can proudly say that I am Matcha lover ^^. Anyway, the texture itself is very soft. It was quite smooth on the lips. It was not too heavy but also not too light. My lip is quite dry. So I supposed I really need one and it really helps my appearance. He he. But maybe I wont't purchase it again because it was quite expensive compare to its peers ^^.
